The Namdapha National park, a short distance from Miao in the Changlang district is home to some of the most exotic and endangered species of the world.

Starting from an altitude of 650 ft above sea level and raising all the way up to 15000 ft, the park has a very
diverse habitat with a wide variety of flora and fauna found exclusively in this zone.

Starting from an altitude of 650 ft above sea level and raising all the way up to 15000 ft, the park has a very diverse habitat with a wide variety of flora and fauna found exclusively in this zone.

It is the habitat of the gigantic Gaur or Mithun, elephants, the Himalayan Black Bear, the wild Goat Takin found only in the slopes of the Paktoi range, Musk deer, slow Loris, the Binturang, the Red Panda and a host of other animals.

Tigers, Leopards and the shy snow Leopard and Clouded Leopard can be found in the higher reaches of the hills in the park. The park also has a variety of primates like the Assamese Macaque, Pigtailed Macaque and Hoolock Gibbon. The White-Winged Wood Duck, an endangered species is also bred in the wild, in the park. Hornbill, jungle fowls, pheasants and host of other colourful birds are also found in the park.

Spread over an area of 483 Sq.Kms, the Mouling National Park is situated in the upper Siang district under the Jengging sub-division. The park is the habitat of a wide variety of flora and fauna. The captive breeding of the white-feathered wild duck is the special feature of the park. The Clouded leopard and a variety of Deer's can also be seen in the park.
